The early childhood
years are a crucial and exciting time, full of discovery and learning.
Fair Haven Methodist Day School is built on a strong foundation of excellence and
dedication towards children and families. We strive to provide a
stimulating and nurturing Christian environment that enables young
children to reach their fullest potential while growing physically, mentally,
socially, and spiritually.
Located in West
Houston, Fair Haven Methodist Day School was established in 1957. Fair Haven
received accreditation status from the National Academy of Early Childhood
Programs in 1988, becoming one of the earliest programs in Houston to achieve
this honor. The school is licensed by the state of Texas.
Educating and
nurturing young children from infancy thru kindergarten, Fair Haven is
conveniently situated off I-10 West and the Sam Houston Tollway. The school
day begins at 9am and ends at 2pm. Optional extended hours are available for all
students from 7am until 6pm. Fair Haven Methodist Day School closely follows Spring
Branch Independent School District's academic calendar. An additional
program during the summer is also offered.
We are very proud of
our association with Houston's Family-Centered
Child Care Collaborative (FC4), a network of schools and child care
centers that involves parents in implementing and planning services and programs
at the school. FC4 enhances the development of child
care centers to become family-centered through a consultant support
relationship, child care staff training, parent involvement and education,
mental health services and links to community resources.
Fair Haven is also an
active member in the Collaborative
for Children network -- a nonprofit organization that works to improve
the quality of early care and education in the Houston area. Partnering with
families and community-based organizations, the Collaborative for Children
focuses on young children from birth to age six.
