About the Toddlers Class
“I looked on child rearing not only as a work of love and duty but as a profession that was fully as interesting and challenging as any honorable profession in the world and one that demanded the best that I could bring it.” ~ Rose Kennedy
The children in Fair Haven’s Toddler Class are walking and interacting with both their peers and their environment in a variety of ways. As with the Infant Class, many daily routines (such as lunchtime and washing hands together) play a major role in their development.
Through the guidance of The Comprehensive Toddler Curriculum (Kay Albrecht and Linda G. Miller), music, singing, puzzles, matching game centers, and dramatic play are all activities in which our toddlers engage. Children in this class also enjoy art projects, trips outside to the playground, and experiencing the joy and discovery of books through daily read-alouds. A major goal in the Toddler Class is establishing daily routines to which the children greatly and enthusiastically look forward.
The approximate range of ages in the Toddler Class is children who are walking through 24 months of age.
